Lawyers as Strategists
Years of experience have made the lawyers at Physicians' Advocates masters of strategy. The study and foresight which are characteristic of strategic planning are consistently and rigorously applied to all facets of our legal work. Whether the task is one of setting up and taking appeals (as far as the U.S Supreme Court), guiding physicians through the economic uncertainties of the current managed care transitions, or advising international clients on the cross-cultural aspects of their overseas business transactions, the lawyers at Physicians' Advocates leverage their strategic skill to produce results. The firm avails itself of state-of-the-art resources and technology and surrounds itself with a support staff that is sophisticated and multi-talented, yet easy and comfortable to work with.

In the course of representing clients, our attorneys frequently find themselves on the cutting edge of current critical issues, where they use their creativity and experience as well as their research and writing skills to achieve successful results in rapidly changing areas of the law. Yet, through clear and direct communications, we are committed to keeping clients informed and comfortable even when the most complex legal issues are involved.

The firm's emphasis on obtaining the highest possible quality is reflected in our record of success. Our Appellate Practice enjoys a record of winning over 80% of its cases; our Healthcare Practice receives continuing referrals from prestigious medical associations as well as satisfied clients; our Litigation practice represents clients on a state and national level; and our International Department is affiliated with distinguished correspondents throughout the world.

Physicians' Advocates and Medical Staff Affairs
By way of introduction, medical staff members should know that Physicians' Advocates is a national law firm specializing in physician representation. It does not represent hospitals, health systems, or health plans only doctors and doctor organizations. Accordingly, the firm represents medical staffs throughout the country and regularly consults with medical staffs and their officers regarding their rights in relation to hospital administrators. Notably, the firm represented the medical staff in Ventura, California in the recent landmark litigation establishing the independence of the medical staff. The firm also represents individual medical staff members in medical staff proceedings, especially in cases involving important principles affecting physician due process. Additionally, from time to time the American Medical Association and California Medical Association ask the firm to prepare their friend-of-the-court briefs on important medical staff questions. The firm's principal, Charles Bond is a nationally known expert on medical staff law, publishing and speaking widely on issues before both medical and legal audiences. Currently, the firm is recognized as the country's leading proponent of medical staff independence through incorporation and the use of the medical staff's collective power to enter into well-defined hospital-medical staff relationships. Mr. Bond further advocates using the medical staff for group purchasing, thereby achieving substantial overhead savings for medical staff members while generating funds for the operation of medical staff.
